Look beyond the surface. Explore three connected descriptions of one simulated website visit. Nothing runs forward until you step it. Connections offers related viewpoints and a return to your previous position. Explain opens a short account, state-linked observations, and optional deeper technical topics.
How to move
Scroll, pinch or drag. + and − move by a factor of ten; the arrow keys by a quarter of that; Page Up and Page Down by a thousand. Drag the ruler or choose a named scale below it. Home returns to the warning sign. G toggles measurement guides.
One fixed point
Every view is centred on the same point at the LHC. Calibrated distances run from the Planck length to the observable horizon; beyond it, a lower-dimensional analogy begins, with no metre scale. Imagery and reconstructions are labelled in each view; sources are in Explain.
Every view carries one or two of five labels, bottom left. Tap a label for its meaning.
How to move
Scroll, pinch, or drag vertically. + looks into implementation; − returns to context. Choose a path above and a familiar stop below. Left / right arrows step the local record; zoom never changes time.
A contemporary, illustrative workstation
The setting is a reconstructed CERN office, not a photograph or a historical machine. The website, addresses, route, timings, and hardware layout are fictional. The network follows one specified scenario; CPU execution is a small real RISC-V example, not an emulation of a complete browser.
What is exact, and what is illustrative?
Instruction encoding, register and memory updates, DNS message bytes, IPv6/UDP lengths and checksums, Ethernet CRC, and the selected line-code transformations are calculated. Connected extensions calculate a bounded Sv39 mapping, a chosen cache policy, neighbor messages, receive-buffer accounting and an explicitly separate loss/reassembly example. A precomputed QUIC packet uses real AES-GCM packet protection with public demonstration keys. The complete connection, QPACK exchange, browser internals, and analogue circuit are not fully emulated.
Switching between modes
The Physical Universe currently uses the exact build 6 document as its preserved internal baseline. Switching modes changes the subject; it is not a continuous journey through this transistor. All three modes remember their place during this session. Organized Life uses a specified maple specimen near King Township, from the ecosphere and biome to molecular chemistry. Its related Energy and Matter views change the question rather than the metre scale.
Technical references & credits
Digital Systems code, artwork, and facsimile page are original to this build. Physical imagery credits remain in The Physical Universe. No third-party runtime code is used. Review date: 15 September 2026.
One specified, reconstructed specimen
The model tree is near 43.955° N, 79.600° W in King Township, Greater Toronto Area. It is not a surveyed tree or a scan of a named property. Leaf anatomy, woodland detail and molecular machinery are authored reconstructions. Biome and ecozone are different ecological classifications, not successive physical shells.
Where evidence meets illustration
The planet uses the NASA imagery already bundled in The Physical Universe. No current vegetation index or biological productivity dataset is implied. ATP geometry is a calculated conformer from a published chemical descriptor; the protein architecture is structure-informed, not imported experimental coordinates. Details are available in each explanation.
All resources ship with this site. Only deliberately opened reference links go online. Your browser view is a simulation, not the actual pah.moi website or a view into your device.
